New England School of Ministry (NESOM) provides a 2-year program for any student seeking to deepen their knowledge of the Bible, become equipped for vocational ministry, strengthen their foundation with Biblical truth and Spirit-filled application, and know God more.

NESOM was established in 2015 after more than 3 years of prayer and planning. In February 2012, over a cup of coffee, the idea for a Bible school in New England was born. In the fall of 2012, we had the opportunity to share the vision for the school with several New England pastors and there was an overwhelming confirmation of God’s will to see this ministry established.  NESOM would become a school that would emphasize the importance of accurate interpretation and application of the Bible and teach the principles found in the Bible to equip students to impact the region of New England.

NESOM is an affiliate campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College, which has a main campus in Murrieta, California and a network of more than 40 affiliate schools both domestically and internationally. By being part of this large and unique network, our students will have the opportunity to attend any of these campuses while staying on track to complete the 2-year program.

NESOM is a ministry of Lighthouse Calvary Chapel (LCC), a Calvary Chapel church. The LCC Board of Stewards governs the school.

Our mission is to provide an atmosphere where people will come to know God personally, deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Bible, identify their Spiritual gifts and be emboldened to use them.

“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”(Jeremiah 9:23-24, ESV) The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 is a call to teach and instruct. This is a commission to all believers and not just those who go into vocational ministry but in order for someone to teach and instruct they must first know God and experience first hand His character.

In 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 we are told that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work”. (ESV) It is our conviction that a believer must know what God says and intends in His word (Bible) and that he or she actively apply it to his or her life to grow and mature in faith. We partner with seasoned, tested and gifted teachers to come alongside the student in pursuing this goal.

As we know God and know His Word we begin to understand the gifts He has given us to use in His service.

“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”(Romans 12:6-8, ESV)

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:10-11, ESV)

We envision sending students out with knowledge of their gifts to serve in all capacities with a focus on the church here in New England however, we are excited to support all students wherever God calls to use them. We will participate in local outreach and missions in order to build relationships with the community and tear down barriers to make way for the gospel.
